John Robertson: The Dark Room Game

Submitted by on April 27, 2012 – 12:30 pm

Comedy Video Game

Here’s a fab idea; a multiple-choice comedy video game created as part of a standup comedy routine by the Australian comedian, John Robertson.

John Robertson explains the genesis of The Dark Room:

“ The Dark Room came about as a stand- up routine in which I played the game alone, responding to myself. ..The second time I performed it was in the middle of a 2,000-seat theatre. I watched amazed as 2,000 people – STRANGERS! – tried desperately to play this stupid game. They were frantic. ALL THEY WANTED WAS TO ESCAPE.

Two Days Later…

Two days later I was still getting mail about it, people were drawing pictures of me in a dark room, one young man even made a webcomic in tribute. And so I thought, “Well, if people want me to mess with them, I will.”  And I did.
